NJASBO will be offering a series of programs that are geared towards School Business Administrators with less than 5 years’ experience.   The sessions will be held via Zoom and the registrants will have access to a Private Group page with the handouts, a forum to interact with colleagues, and the recordings of the Virtual Sessions.    Registrants will have access to this group for one year.    The cost for the program (all 4 sessions) is $100.   If you are unable to attend a live webinar you will have access to the recording within the Private Group. 

Session #1 - Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 ~ 10:00 am to noon – DOE Basics, Updates, State Reporting - Neil Cramer, Executive County School Business Official, Sussex County and State Coordinator ECSBO’s will review the DOE Organization, County Office role, The Role of the SBA, QSAC, Fall Reports, Contracts, DOE Homeroom and other pertinent information.   Please bring your questions or concerns, this will be an interactive session.  

      2 CPE -1 Finance/1 Accounting

      2 QPA -1 Office Admin/1 Information Technology (applied for)


Session #2 – Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 ~ 10:00 am to noon - Purchasing Basics - James Shoop, Retired SBA and Consultant for NJASBO will review Public School Purchasing Best Practices and Compliance.  

      2 CPE -2 Finance

     2 QPA -1 Procurement Procedures/1 Ethics (applied for)


Session #3 – Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 -~ 10:00 am to noon- Records Management - Karen Perry, Records Analyst, NJ Department of Treasury – Review of Records and Information Management, Records Retention Schedules, Destruction of Records, OPRA, and the online ARTEMIS System. 

       2 CPE -1 Auditing/1 Business Law

      2 QPA -1 Office Admin/1 Information Technology (applied for)


Session #4 –Thursday, January 21st, 2021 ~ 10:00 am to noon – Michael Kaelber, NJASBO Consultant – Attorney Presentation will be focused on: Sunshine Law, School Official Voting Issues, Ethics in Voting, Open Public Meeting Act, Notice Requirements, Board Hearings, and other important information. 

      2 CPE -1 Taxation/1 Business Law

     2 QPA -1 Office Admin/1 Ethics (applied for)
