Governor Takes Action on Bills & Sustainable NJ Grant Availability

Governor Signed the following:
A542 (Mazzeo, Lagana, Andrzejczak, Zwicker, Land, Benson, Downey / Ruiz) - Requires certain schools to maintain supply of opioid antidotes and permits emergency administration of opioid antidote by school nurse or trained employee.
This act shall take effect on the first day of the fourth month next following the date of enactment, except the Department of education may take any anticipatory administrative action in advance as shall be necessary for the implementation of this act.
Governor Conditionally Vetoed the following:
S2293 / A3902 (Sweeney, Oroho, Gordon, A.R. Bucco / Benson, Burzichelli, Lampitt) –"Securing Our Children's Future Bond Act"; authorizes issuance of $1,000,000,000 in general obligation bonds to finance certain school, school district, and county college capital projects; appropriates $5,000.
A764 / S365 (Caputo, Tucker, Quijano, Vainieri Huttle, Sumter, McKnight, Conaway, Houghtaling / Rice, Ruiz, Bucco) – "Alyssa's Law"; requires public school buildings to be equipped with panic alarm linked to local law enforcement.
A3808 / S2418 (Greenwald, Bramnick, Murphy / Singleton, Oroho) – Provides for prompt payment of public contracts for purchase of goods and services.
Sustainable Jersey Gardinier Environmental Fund
Sustainable Jersey is pleased to announce it has once again partnered with the Gardinier Environmental Fund to offer grants to municipalities and school districts for energy-related projects focused on conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy. This cycle will award: two (2) $30,000 grants and nine (9) $10,000 grants.
Applications are due Wednesday, October 31 at 11:59pm. An informational webinar will be held Monday, September 10, from 3:00pm – 4:00pm.
