Budget Calendar & Board Meetings- At the current time we have no knowledge of any changes to or extensions of the budget deadlines. We will notify you immediately if we become aware of any changes. We have provided several resources to guide you in regard to virtual board meetings. As always follow the guidance of your board attorney or solicitor. The following resources are provided CLICK HERE :

  • DCA Guidance
  • Sample Procedures and Notices from one District’s Virtual Meeting
  • Zoom Meeting Information

Food Service & Essential Employees- In the absence of responses to our inquiry regarding a district’s obligation to continue food services given the Governor’s March 22nd Executive Order, our interpretation would be that districts have the obligation to continue the services as an essential service. Those workers would be considered essential workers able to report to work. This appears to be the logical answer and in the intent of the prior edict. Additionally, any other employees identified previously in your plan as essential employees would continue to be valid.

Payment of Employees and Vendors- You may recall we sent out a link to the Department of Labor website that provides a chart and some Q&A guidance on unemployment benefits etc. At this point in time we have no further guidance on this overall issue.

S2273- This health benefits bill was released and passed in the Senate within 48 hrs. last week. NJASBO has posted the comments it submitted to the Senate office and will be sending to the Assembly. It can be found at Latest NewsNEWS LINK
