Professional Development Programs

 

               

IN-SERVICE PROGRAMS

NJASBO provides monthly in-service programs on topics that provide information and awareness on current issues that School Business Administrators and other professionals face on a day to day basis.

 

All in-service programs are from 9:00am to 12 noon with registration beginning at 8:30am.  Lunch is included.  Each in-service program is $100/person/program.  There is NO subscription plan available for the 2019-2020 year. 

 

Cancellations must be received at least 72 hours prior to in-service date to received credit.  If you do not cancel and do not attend you are still responsible for payment of the registration fee.

 

Please Note:  All QPA Credits are pending review by DCA.  Schedules subject to change.  

 

To register more than one person for a seminar, once the first person has registered,  sign out.  The next individual can register by either signing in under their profile or just click on register and follow the prompts (no profile is necessary).

Negotiations - Start to Finish

 

 

Attendees will be presented with the "Life of Negotiations" by Anthony Sciarrillo, Esq. This program is for those individuals who have at least 5 years as a School Business Administrator and are currently employed in an LEA who would like to be added to become a Mentor.  As a Mentor, you will oversee the one to two year residency training program of a School Business Administrator or Assistant Business Administrator who is working under a Provisional Certificate.

This program has been revised and will be presented by Karen Perry, Records Analyst, New Jersey Department of Treasury.  Ms. Perry wrote the Records Retention Schedule, as well as developed the Artemis System.  She is the expert in this field and will be able to answer any and all questions! Susan Kutner, Director, Office of School Facility Planning, will provide a live website demo on how to update your district’s Long Range Facility Plan (LRFP) to receive state capital project approvals.  This program is specifically for those districts who are anticipating an upcoming referendum and/or are in imminent need of a capital project.   

For all other districts, NJASBO along with the Office of School Facility Planning, anticipates holding additional programs throughout the year.  

There is no cost for this program.

The Academy Program has been developed for School Business Administrators and Assistant School Business Administrators with 5 or less years of experience and also for those who are going through their Mentoring Program.  It is designed to strengthen the core knowledge and skills of newly appointed School Business Administrators and Assistant School Business Administrators by meeting with experienced School Business Administrators and other professionals, in a small group setting.
